Light Jet A
light jet typically seats 5-7 passengers. The range is around 1,500 miles/ 900kms with a speed of approximately 440 - 480
mph. One would use this plane when there are up to 6 passengers with minimal luggage, and the destination is less than 1,200
miles/720 kms such Melbourne to Sydney or Sydney to Brisbane.
Midsize Jet
A midsize jet typically seats 6-8 passengers. The range is around 2,500 miles /
900kms with a speed of approximately 450 - 500 mph. One would use this plane when there are up to 6 passengers and the destination
is in the 2,000-mile range such as Melbourne to Cairns. The cabin is larger than a light jet cabin, therefore a little more
comfortable for longer flights, and has an enclosed lavatory. One would choose a midsize jet over a light jet because of the
larger cabin, the longer range (which eliminates the need to stop for fuel), and the additional speed.
Heavy Jet A heavy jet typically seats 9-14 passengers.
The range can be 3,000 miles to as much as 4,200/7,000 miles, although it is typically around 4,000 miles. The speed is approximately
500 - 550 mph. One would use this plane when up to 10 people are travelling or the destination requires a range of 3,000 miles/
1,800 kms or more. The cabin is very spacious and comfortable with an enclosed lavatory.
